Premier League sack race: Which manager faces the chop next after Tottenham, Leeds and Burnley developments

Thomas Frank looks set to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job as Tottenham linger in mid-table and face a tough run of upcoming games.

Frank took over as Tottenham boss in the summer after being poached from Brentford to replace Ange Postecoglou.

He was backed in the summer window with some big signings like Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, but Spurs have struggled once more in the Premier League so far this season.

Forest beat Frank’s side 3-0 on Sunday (14 December) to consign them to a sixth league defeat of the season and 11th place in the table as it stands.

Football Insider recently revealed that Frank is not under serious pressure at Spurs right now, but more heavy defeats to teams below them could well see him sacked soon.

Thomas Frank next to go as Scott Parker and Daniel Farke get more time

Frank is not the only Premier League manager at risk of being sacked soon, but some clubs are likely to give their bosses more time to prove themselves, considering their previous successes.

That may apply to both Leeds and Burnley, who are set to battle relegation this season, but each owe a lot to their respective managers, Farke and Parker, after they led them to the top flight in 2024-25.

Farke was close to being sacked in the summer following promotion, but has done a decent job so far this term, with the Whites currently sat in 17th place and three points away from the bottom three.

Parker’s side are struggling in 19th, but Football Insider’s sources have revealed that the Burnley board do not want to sack their boss despite relegation looking pretty likely as it stands.

His stellar Championship record could force them into keeping him on for the remainder of the campaign and beyond, but the same situation does not apply for Frank, as he is expected to lead Spurs to Champions League qualification this season.

They are 11th in the Premier League right now after that heavy loss to Forest, and with a tough run of games against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Sunderland to come, the Dane could well be the next top-flight manager to leave his post.

Oliver Glasner could replace Thomas Frank as sack looms

It would certainly not come as a shock to see Frank sacked soon, with Palace potentially set to deliver the final blow when they face Spurs on 28 December.

Tottenham could look to Palace boss Glasner as a possible Frank replacement regardless of the result at Selhurst Park, with the bookies making him their current favourite to be their next manager at 5/1 odds.

Fulham manager Marco Silva comes in next at 8/1 alongside Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, while former Brighton and current Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi is priced at 12/1 to take over in North London soon.

Glasner is set to leave Palace soon after rejecting a new contract, but he could choose to depart before his Eagles deal expires at the end of this season if Spurs offer a lucrative package with Frank already out the door.
