Premier League seek new sanction on Leicester that could result in another points deduction
The Premier League want to see more points taken from Leicester City’s current total as they appeal the decision made to deduct six earlier this month.
According to a new update from the Telegraph’s John Percy, the Premier League are seeking to impose a new sanction for previous late submission of accounts and have appealed the earlier decision.
Leicester have also made an appeal to see their current six-point deduction taken away, and the Premier League aim to resolve the dispute before the end of this season.
The Foxes are currently languishing in the Championship relegation zone on 32 points, two away from 21st-placed West Brom.
Further deductions from their current total would only deepen their relegation fears, while the previous sanction being taken away would lift them into 19th place.

Leicester have struggled throughout this season amid relegation fears
It has been all change at the King Power Stadium over the last few months, with Marti Cifuentes sacked from his position as manager after a run of two wins in eight league games.
Gary Rowett has been appointed as their new boss this week ahead of a huge final 14 games of the campaign, while James McCarron also looks set to arrive as their new sporting director soon.
Another points deduction would serve as a major blow to their survival hopes, with a first return to League One since 2009 potentially on the cards.
What are Leicester’s current chances of Championship survival?
Despite their struggles, Opta‘s supercomputer is still backing the Foxes to avoid dropping into League One on their current points total.
They are currently given a 7.52 per cent chance of relegation this season by the stats gurus, with 56.34 expected points, which sees them finish 18th in a predicted final table.
Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford United are set to make up the bottom two positions, while West Brom are predicted to go down on current form, with 51 expected points and a 40.5 per cent chance of relegation.
Based on those calculations, another six-point deduction from Leicester’s tally would land them in real trouble and potentially be enough to relegate them this season.
