'The pressure is on Chelsea' - Tottenham key man ups the title ante
By Matt Bullin
Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has given his verdict on the title race claiming ‘the pressure is on Chelsea’.
The Belgian centre back was part of the side that beat Arsenal 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
The win which came courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli, closed the gap on league leaders Chelsea.
The gap between Antonio Conte’s side and Spurs is now just four points, with only four games remaining.
Chelsea looked in imperious form on Sunday as they thrashed Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park, though Vertonghen has still insisted that all the pressure is on them.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, as quoted by the Daily Mail, he said: “The pressure is on Chelsea. One defeat, and a win for us and the gap will just be a point.”
The 30-year-old continued to give his verdict on the result at White Hart Lane: “It was a massive game in so many different ways – we showed from the start we wanted to win more than them, and that we want to stay in the title race.”
Despite Vertonghen’s optimism, Spurs face a much more difficult run in than their title rivals.
Tottenham have just one home game remaining this season, against Man United, and they also have to travel to West Ham, Leicester and Hull.
Meanwhile Chelsea have three home ties versus Middlesbrough, Watford and Sunderland, and one away trip to West Brom.
The 91-time Belgium international has been a mainstay of the Spurs defence this term and has made 38 appearances in all competitions.
In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has made an honest admission ahead of his sides’ meeting with West Ham.
