PSG and Real Madrid stars react to Ibrahima Konate’s Liverpool message
Ibrahima Konate sent a heartfelt message to Liverpool fans after Arne Slot’s side were sent crashing out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
The Frenchman was forced to put his body on the line as Ousmane Dembele’s early opener at Anfield forced the game to extra-time, where the defender was not able to continue and had to be replaced.
With a penalty shootout needed to separate the two European giants, PSG eventually came out on top and set up a clash with Aston Villa in the next round on 11 March.
The Reds, on the other hand, were tipped to hire a psychologist and Robbie Fowler in order to help Darwin Nunez, having missed one of the key spot-kicks in the crushing defeat.
Having been replaced by Wataru Endo in the closing stages, Konate has instead chosen to look forward rather than focus on being knocked out of the Champions League.

Taking to Instagram [13 March], Konate wrote: “We gave our all but just fell short. Thank you for the support, Reds. See you on Sunday at Wembley. All together!”
The post was liked by teammates Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jones, but was also liked by Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger and PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani.
Liverpool to avoid further disappointment against Newcastle United
Mohamed Salah, who could be in his final season at Liverpool, was absolutely distraught after the full-time whistle at Anfield, which could say everything about his future.
Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold’s contracts are also expiring at the end of the season, which has been a continuous topic raised at Anfield since the current campaign began.

Their upcoming opponents, on the other hand, are attempting to lift their first piece of domestic silverware in 70 years, and potentially keep Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak at Newcastle ahead of next season.
The Magpies are bound to use the Reds’ heartbreaking defeat against them, but if Arne Slot has shown anything in his first season is his team’s ability to bounce back.
Eddie Howe will be prepared for a fight but it could get rather ugly as the two sides battle it out at Wembley Stadium.
