Pundit blasts ‘shocking’ Solskjaer as Rashford left fuming pre-Man United v Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is “out of order” to suggest Marcus Rashford needs to “prioritise his football” at Man United.

That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Solksjaer’s “shocking” comments.

The Man United boss made the comments last week ahead of Rahsford’s return from injury referencing his work surrounding child food poverty that saw him awarded an MBE last year.

Since then, the England international has scored twice in two games and could have a starting role in tomorrow’s mouthwatering clash against Liverpool.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported Solskjaer’s comments did not go down well with Rashford who has always been focused on his playing career.

“That’s a shocking thing to say from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I heard Tony Cascirino say the same thing as well on talkSPORT. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to focus on coaching his side to have a style of play.

“Stop worrying about what a great person, a great man, is doing for society, doing for kids and doing for the world. He’s helping feed kids, he’s doing things for charity.

“He’s come on in his first game back and scored a goal.

“Marcus Rashford, what he does off the pitch will not affect what he does on the pitch. When he’s at training, he’ll train hard and when he plays, he’ll play hard.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is out of order, Tony Cascarino as well.

“Maybe Solskjaer should concentrate on his own job and create a style of play for his team and not what Rashford is doing for a good cause.

“People don’t understand that there’s more to life than football. Doing good and helping children is bigger than playing in a team where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t even know to coach.

“His goals have put all of that to bed.”
