Pundit brands Man United a ‘disgrace’ after ’embarrassing’ Jesse Lingard update
Man United are a “disgrace” for keeping Jesse Lingard at the club.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid fresh quoted from Ralf Rangnick.
On Thursday (3 February), Ralph Rangnick, as quoted by BBC Sport’s Simon Stone, revealed Lingard is taking time away from United to “clear his mind” after failing to leave the club.

As reported by The Athletic (31 January), the midfielder saw a deadline day exit blocked by the club despite manager Rangnick sanctioning a move.
As revealed by Football Insider on Friday (21 January) Manchester United rejected a £5million loan bid from Newcastle.
The Athletic also claim Newcastle returned with another bid for Lingard on deadline day and McAvennie can’t believe Man United didn’t sanction a move.
“I think it’s a disgrace,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They were after so much money to make a loan deal happen then they didn’t even let him go.
“The so-called reasons are just embarrassing, I don’t know what they were thinking. God knows how Jesse feels.
“He’s stuck there now. He won’t play, not a chance. Why would the manager bring him in now?
“Where is the motivation? He won’t be busting a gut to play for this team he won’t be at in a few months.
“The whole thing is ridiculous. I’m gutted for him now. Newcastle wanted him but they singed other players.
“Lingard is the one who really lost out. Man United will lose out on a fee for him but they are a massive club. They will barely notice that.”

Lingard has started twice in 14 appearances for Manchester United this season.
He has scored two Premier League goals.
