Pundit ‘can see Gueye going to Newcastle’ after ‘unbelievable’ update
Newcastle United could “steal” Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain before Monday’s deadline, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 32-year-old still has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League and could be “a hero” at St. James’ Park.
The Magpies are in the market for a centre-midfielder this month.

According to The Athletic‘s Chris Waugh (24 January), the club have discussed a potential move for Idrissa Gueye.
The Senegal international has entered the final 18 months of his contract in Paris.
Campbell believes there could be a deal to be done with PSG.
“Gueye is still a very good player,” he told Football Insider.
“He is still fit, can get up and down the pitch and can tackle. A player who you could see at Newcastle.
“A player who knows the Premier League. He’s a player I could see going there and being a hero, a star. In that midfield, they need somebody who is fit, tough and can get around people.
“Gueye has played at an unbelievable level with PSG. Let’s not forget, he was a fan favourite at Everton.
“If they can get him for around the £15million-mark it’s a steal, a giveaway.”

Gueye has scored four goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
He is currently at the African Cup of Nations with Senegal.
