Pundit can’t believe ‘big’ update on Everton appointing Martinez
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Everton reappointing Roberto Martinez would not make sense.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Martinez may reject a move back to Goodison Park to focus on the Belgium job.
The Athletic reported yesterday (17 January) the Blues want the 48-year-old to return to Merseyside on an interim basis.

The Belgian FA would rather the Spaniard’s full focus is on the Qatar World Cup later this year than do two jobs simultaneously.
Everton need a new manager after sacking Rafael Benitez on Sunday (16 January) following their 2-0 defeat to Norwich City the previous day.
The Toffees have not won in the Premier League since September and hover just six points above the relegation zone.
Asked for his verdict on Martinez returning to the Merseyside club, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “The fans wanted Martinez out when he left so that doesn’t make sense to me.
“Everton have got a big problem. Their squad is not as good as it should be.
“Any manager that comes in knows they are under massive pressure. It’s not a job I would want to take.
“I’m sure Roberto Martinez is thinking ‘World Cup in November or relegation battle with Everton?’ I just don’t see him taking that job, to be honest.”

Martinez spent three years in charge of Everton between 2013 and 2016.
He left them in 12th-place in the Premier League but did guide them to an FA Cup and League Cup semi-final in his final season in charge.
In other news, there has been a significant update on Everton potentially appointing Wayne Rooney.
