Pundit can’t believe ’embarrassing’ Man United ban – ‘There could be lawsuits’
Man United could face a lawsuit after their “embarrassing” ban on selected media outlets.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie was baffled by the decision and urged the club to prove them wrong rather than “panic”.
Sky Sports, the Manchester Evening News, The Mirror and ESPN journalists were all refused entry into the pre-Chelsea press conference after reporting damning leaks that claimed Erik ten Hag has lost half the dressing room.

The Red Devils have had a tumultuous season and sit seventh in the Premier League after their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United (2 December) while their Champions League hopes are on thin ice with their 3-3 draw to Galatasaray (29 November) leaving them at the foot of Group A.
McAvennie warned that banning Sky Sports specifically could give the club a fresh batch of issues.
“I don’t think it’s fair at all,” he told Football Insider.
“Man United have been negative all year. Everything that comes out of the club is a bad story.
“It’s embarrassing, absolutely disgraceful. There are good players there and I’m seeing the manager saying that they’re all together – you don’t say that unless you’re not together!
“Good managers just leave it and have their say in the dressing room and have a chat with them to get it sorted.
“It’s good to have a siege mentality and it’s good to prove people wrong – don’t just ban them for being negative.

“Banning Sky could mess them up, there could be lawsuits there. They have to be there because they pay Man United fortunes.
“It’s a really strange one, it’s a sign of panic. I don’t think it’s right.”
