Pundit can’t believe Kyle Walker could quit Man City and join Italian side

Alan Hutton has suggested Kyle Walker could quit Man City for Italy for a “silly” offer.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender doesn’t foresee Walker leaving the Etihad any time soon.

On 28 February, sources told this site that the Cityzens are likely to offer the 32-year-old a new contract.

Man City

The Sky Blues are keen to keep hold of the long-serving defender whose contract expires in 2024.

Walker is happy at the club and remains a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s plans and they are likely to push on with contract talks during the off-season.

When asked if Walker may look for a new challenge, Hutton told Football Insider:I do not think so.

I do not think there is any need to go and test yourself anywhere else. You are playing in the best league in the world at one of the best teams in the world so why would you want to leave that?

Man City

He has got competition now, the likes of Rico Lewis coming through but I think Kyle Walker is still the number one right-back there. He has still got a lot to give and at 32 he has still got a good few years ahead of him.

Unless a silly offer came in and he fancied going to Italy and playing there, I do not see why he would feel the need to move away.

In other news, according to sources, Man City star Rico Lewis set to agree deal by end of May.
