Pundit can't believe Lisandro Martinez's Man United move after what he's seen
The big-money signing of Man United defender Lisandro Martinez is a “risk” due to his lack of Premier League experience.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s latest recruit.
Man United announced the signing of Ajax defender Martinez, 24, on Thursday (28 July).
As per Sky Sports (28 July) the Red Devils will pay £56.7million for the Argentina international, who can play at centre-back, left-back and central midfield.
Martinez made 120 appearances under Ten Hag while at Ajax and Kenny insists this is key to his arrival at Old Trafford.
“You have to trust the manager but I think anyone who comes to the Premier League without that experience is a risk,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“From what I have read and seen he is a good player. He isn’t very tall for a centre-half, is he?
“It will be interesting to see how he does. It’s going to be very difficult because the Premier League is so different to Ajax’s league.
“I want to see how he is going to do but, as I say, any player who comes from abroad is a risk.
“It’s a lot of money and time will tell.”
Martinez joined Ajax in May 2019 and helped the club win four major honours.
The versatile defender has made seven appearances for Argentina after making his international debut on 22 March 2019.
