Pundit cites Grealish after Bielsa's 'massive' Leeds player reveal
Kevin Phillips has suggested Leeds United could face a “Jack Grealish” situation with Kalvin Phillips amid talks over his future.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Sunderland striker admitted it would be “massive” if the 25-year-old remains at Elland Road for the long-term.
As quoted by the Daily Mail (30th September), Bielsa insisted Phillips would only leave his boyhood side if he could guarantee his “link” to the club remain intact.
As revealed by Football Insider (16th September), Leeds have opened discussions over a new deal with the homegrown star.
However, the Daily Star report Manchester United are keen on a move after turning their attention from Declan Rice.
Kevin Phillips suggested his namesake could move to a “top, top club” if he wanted.

As such, he claimed Leeds could find themselves in a similar situation to the one Aston Villa had with Jack Grealish.
Discussing Bielsa’s comments, the former striker told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs: “It’s massive.
“I’ve always said he’s a class player. He could easily play for a Man United or a top, top club. He has shown that.
“It’s good news to hear the player wants that but then I know football. We all know football. Look at Jack Grealish at Aston Villa.
“Sometimes an offer comes in that is too hard to turn down. It would be interesting if Man United did put a bid in, what the club would do then.
“If that was to happen and he stayed at Leeds, you would have to say that is top credit to a player that is true to his word.
“It is great he has said that. Get him on a contract, give him what he wants and hopefully he’ll keep performing the way he has been.”
