Pundit claims ‘Huge’ development will keep Patterson at Rangers after latest
Noel Whelan insists Nathan Patterson will be given appropriate game time at Rangers amid interest from Everton.
The former Aberdeen hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on the defender’s future.
As reported by the Mirror (22 August), Everton tabled a £5million offer for the 19-year-old and are pushing hard for a deal.

After last season’s breakthrough campaign, Patterson has only made one appearance so far this season.
However, with Rangers reaching the group stage of the Europa League, Whelan insists this is about to change.
“It’s easy to have your head turned by a Premier League club,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“But right now he has time on his side and it’s not like he’s at a lower league club. He’s at Rangers, a team that plays in Europe.
“He’s got good people around him and good side. Staying in Europe is huge for Rangers and now they have made the group stage they will need a big squad.
“So he will get more game time than you probably think. You never know what’s going to happen with injuries and COVID.
“Right now they will be reluctant to let him go unless the price is right for Rangers to let him go.

“It doesn’t matter where you are, if you are stuck on a bench you are stuck on a bench. You have to find a way to break into that side.
“Everton and Rangers are two clubs with two fantastic managers. I’m sure Patterson will get plenty of game time.”
In other news, Rangers have sealed two ‘massive’ late transfer ‘boosts’ after Ibrox development – Whelan.
