Pundit ‘concerned’ for Michael Beale after ‘disappointing’ Rangers reveal

Frank McAvennie is worried about Michael Beale at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said Beale is saying “all the right things” to make fans happy but is concerned he won’t be able to put it into practice.

As quoted by the Daily Record (4 December), the new manager said that the Gers have “underdog status”.

The 42-year-old said that the position his side are in right now is “really disappointing” compared to where they were last year.

The Light Blues sit nine points behind Glasgow rivals Celtic ahead of the season returning on Thursday (15 December) when they face Hibernian.

But, the Englishman insisted he is not concerned with the league table and is purely focused on getting the team back winning games.

The Ibrox job is Beale’s second managerial role after quitting QPR for the Glasgow giants but he spent time as assistant manager under Steven Gerrard before ultimately moving on.

McAvennie isn’t sure if Beale is ready to be a manager.

He is saying all the right things,” he told Football Insider.

He is saying everything for the fans.

Rangers

I am a wee bit concerned with him. I am going to be honest with you, if I was a Rangers supporter I would be concerned.

He is not a manager. Good coaches do not become good managers. He won one game in seven at QPR, that is the first time he faced a managerial crisis and he jumped ship. He has never been tested.
