Dele Alli should leave Tottenham on loan before the transfer window shuts today, according to Danny Mills.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, urged the 24-year-old to leave the London club on loan and “reassess” his situation in a year’s time.
The Daily Mail claim that Paris Saint-Germain are set to launch a £6million loan bid for the English attacker as the transfer window draws to a close.
Alli was frozen out by Jose Mourinho last month but has returned to the fold this month and featured in comprehensive wins over Maccabi Haifa and Manchester United.
But the attacking midfielder has once again been left out of the England squad and may seek a loan exit to regain his place in the national team ahead of Euro 2021.
When asked by Football Insider if Alli should take a loan move if it arrives today, Mills said:
“He needs to move and he needs to get himself a fresh challenge and a fresh start.
“It has not happened for him of late. Bale is going to come in to play in his position so he is not going to get an awful lot of football this time around.
“I would be thinking about a loan deal. Get yourself out for a season and reassess it next year.
“I expect that a few clubs will come in for him before the window closes because he is still a quality player. He just needs a new lease of life.”
