Pundit digs at 'poor' Ramsdale as Arsenal footage emerges
Arsenal fans are getting carried away with Aaron Ramsdale’s much-talked-about save, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted it was a routine save that looked better than it was.
Just before the half-time break of Arsenal’s win over Leicester City, James Maddison lined up a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area.
He thought he had scored before Ramsdale dived to his left to tip the ball onto the crossbar.
“I think it was a good save but people are probably getting too excited,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“That’s a save I expect my keeper to make. If Emiliano Martinez made that save, I’d say ‘Yes, that’s what my goalkeeper does. That’s why you spend £30million on a goalkepeer’.

“Let’s not forget that Ramsdale has been poor until very recently.
“Yes, it was a good save but it’s a save you expect him to make. It wasn’t in the top corner so people are getting a bit carried away.
“If that was in training, the players would shout ‘Cameras!’, just to say he’s done that for the cameras.
“So, it was a good save but people have got carried away, let’s be honest.
“It wasn’t in the top corner, the free-kick from Maddison. I’ve seen keepers save free-kicks from there that have been in the top, top corner.”
As quoted by Sky Sports, Mikel Arteta described the save as “incredible”.
He admitted he thought Leicester had scored as soon as the ball left Maddison foot.
