Pundit Exclusive: Fans will be blown away by what they see from Leeds at restart
Michael Brown has claimed football fans will be blown away by the fitness of Leeds United players when the season restarts.
The former Leeds and Tottenham midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, suggests that fitness levels at Elland Road will not have dropped as much as fans supporters may think during the gap in fixtures.
Leeds have not played a competitive game since their 2-0 win over Huddersfield in March.
With nine games left to play, they are set to resume their season with a visit to Cardiff City on Sunday.
Brown believes that the time off will have helped the Whites’ players freshen up and admits he is expecting them to shine between now and the end of the campaign.
Brown told Football Insider: “I think they’ll all be looking forward to it, they’ll be delighted to get back and I think the break might have (helped).

“They were going really well but I think they’ll be freshened up because we know how high energy these players play at. I’d expect them to come out really, really strong, this Leeds aside, and try to put Cardiff on the back foot. I think they’ll do very well towards the end of the season.
“I think no one will be wanting to play Leeds United, that’s for sure. It’s no different to every other team, it’s going to take a little bit of time to get that bit of quality up, I don’t think the guys will have de-trained as much as fans expect.”
Prior to the Championship lockdown, Leeds had won their last five league games and kept a clean sheet in all of them.
They currently sit one point clear of West Brom at the top of the table, with Fulham in third.
In other Leeds United news, Noel Whelan has been left fretting over “giants” ahead of the club’s clash versus Cardiff.
