Pundit Exclusive: Lennon has found Celtic dressing room 'Virus' & backed to get rid in Jan

Frank McAvennie has urged Celtic to bin any players who do not want to be at the club in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Hoops and St Mirren striker suggested that manager Neil Lennon has “pinpointed” a “virus” in the dressing room at Parkhead.

The Scottish Premiership champions crashed out of the Europa League and Scottish League Cup last week and have won only two of their previous 10 games.

Sunday’s domestic cup loss to Ross County resulted in ugly scenes outside Celtic Park with many fans calling for the sacking of Neil Lennon.

McAvennie is adamant there is a number of players who do not want to be at the club this season.

“The team from back to front is not playing well,” he told Football Insider.

“They have to get rid of the ones that do not want to be there in January. Neil Lennon knows who does not want to be there.

“There is certain players strolling about and I just do not get it. They have stopped.

“Lenny said that he has pinpointed what is wrong in that dressing room and if there is a virus in that dressing room then he needs to get rid of it. He needs to get rid of it in January.

“Whoever does not want to be there has to go in January. Get them out of the door.”

In other Celtic news, Alex McLeish has told Football Insider that “many people are not happy” amid latest Hoops meltdown.
