Pundit Exclusive: West Ham player tipped for first start & formation change v Man Utd
Gabriel Agbonlahor fully expects West Ham forward Said Benrahma to start against Manchester United after his second-half cameo against Aston Villa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Villa and England striker called on David Moyes to play more attacking football to get the best out of the Algerian.
Benrahma was introduced at half-time against Villa on Monday night and he had an immediate impact as he provided the cross for Jarod Bowen to head home the winner.
Sebastien Haller and Benrahma replaced Michail Antonio and Arthur Masuaku at the interval as Moyes switched formation from 5-4-1 to 4-1-4-1.
And Agbonlahor has claimed the game against Villa proved that is how you get the best out of the Brentford loanee.
“100 per cent, Benrahma starts against Manchester United,” he told Football Insider.

“I feel David Moyes was looking for a way to put him in the side and he’s finally got him in there now.
“He did well when he came on against Aston Villa.
“To get the best out of Benrahma, you’ve got to play attacking football. I don’t think defensive counter-attacking football will get the best out of him.
“He wants to be on the ball on the time.
“The back five can suit him if he’s given a role where he just attacks and doesn’t defend as much.
“The formation they had in the second-half against Villa was a 4-1-4-1 and that was a better formation because he had more players in and around him attacking.
“He had Pablo Fornals, Bowen and Haller. There were more attacking players around him to help and that’s how you’ll get the best out of him.”
