Pundit hails 'phenomenal' Celtic transfer after 'brilliant' new signing completed
Ange Postecoglou deserves all the credit after pulling off four “brilliant” Celtic signings.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as the Hoops’ boss was hailed for his “phenomenal” signings at the club.
Celtic have signed four senior players this month, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Matt O’Riley.
O’Riley, 21, is the latest midfield recruit with his signing confirmed on Thursday (20 January) after the Scottish giants activated the £1.5million release clause in his MK Dons contract.
However, it was the arrival of the Japanese trio that caught the eye.
During Monday night’s (17 January) win over Hibs, Maeda marked his debut with a goal after four minutes and Hatate won man of the match.

As a result, Kenny has hailed Postecoglou’s ability to spot a talented player.
“It’s more players who have just come in and immediately done well,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We were all looking forward to seeing how the lads did in that first game.
“Obviously fans were hoping they could have an impact like Kyogo. I have seen worse debuts, I have to say.
“To score on your debut is brilliant and it casts aside any doubt that these guys aren’t good enough for the Scottish Premiership.
“Hatate then getting man of the match as well. That’s just brilliant.
“All the credit goes to the coach, he’s so underrated. His transfers have been phenomenal.
“You can be sure he will continue to go shopping in Japan for as long as he is there.”
