Pundit issues ‘100%’ claim after source’s update today on new Leeds bid for Aaronson
Alex McLeish has insisted Leeds United need to sign ready-made first-team stars after tabling a new bid for RB Salzburg’s Brenden Aaronson.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, warned the Whites it would be “risky business” signing a squad player this month.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider today that the club have tabled an improved bid for Aaronson after having a £15million offer rejected.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is keen on a move to the Premier League but Salzburg are reluctant to sell.
He is contracted to the Austrian outfit until 2025.
McLeish insisted Leeds need to ensure Aaronson is ready to head into the starting XI before splashing the cash.
“If you’re bringing a player in on a whim and saying: ‘I think he could be quite good,’ then that is risky business at that high level,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“It’s the same at any in any high-level business. You have to get guys who are better than you have at the moment.
“Not bringing somebody in for the squad but someone better than who’s playing in the starting XI.
“If Leeds are going to be doing business with the Austrians, they have to do their homework, 100 per cent.”
Aaronson is a versatile playmaker who has featured in a number of attacking roles during his career.
He has been a mainstay for Salzburg this season, with 26 appearances under his belt.

Six of those appearances came in the Champions League group stage as Salzburg qualified for the knock-out stages.
Aaronson also has 15 caps under his belt for the USA.
