Pundit issues ‘big’ Antony claim after what he’s seen at Man United – ‘I’m sure…’
Antony is certain to be an important Man United player for many years after marking his Premier League debut with a goal.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the new Red Devils star.
Antony, 22, made his debut for the Red Devils against Arsenal on Sunday (4 September).
As shown on Sky Sports (4 September), the right-winger scored the first goal of the game, finishing off a sweeping counter-attacking move.
He celebrated by furiously slapping the crest of his new club while being mobbed by his teammates.
Kenny is now sure the winger will play a big role in Man United’s future after being impressed by his debut.
“There is a lot of money on his head but he has come in and scored on his debut,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He took it well, he didn’t just lash at it. That’s a big thing for me. I’m sure they are delighted with his performance and the result as well.
“Antony really looks the part and yet again time will tell how he does over the next few years.
“I’m sure he is going to be a good and important player for Man United after such an encouraging debut.”

As revealed by Sky Sports (1 September), the deal to sign Antony is worth £86million.
The forward put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Old Trafford that includes the option of a further year.
