Pundit issues bold West Ham claim after development – ‘I’m absolutely sure…’

David Moyes will have West Ham challenging for Europe this season despite a poor start to the campaign.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s start to the season.

West Ham have only won one of their six Premier League games so far this season.

However, despite an early scare, the Hammers did start their Europa Conference League campaign with a win by beating Ludogorets 3-1 on Thursday (8 September).

Kenny maintains the club can still challenge for European places this season.

“West Ham have had a rough start, haven’t they?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s a tricky one because they should be doing better, they shouldn’t be in the relegation zone.

“They won’t be there for long, I am absolutely sure of that. They have spent this summer and I think they just need those new signings to properly gel together.

“The big man up front [Scamacca] hasn’t really done it yet but he will adjust to the league over time, everyone takes time.

“We know how good this team is, it has been in Europe for the past few seasons and I expect they will be there again this year.”

West Ham

West Ham’s only win this season came against Aston Villa on 28 August.

They were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in their last Premier League game last weekend (3 September).

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed the UK Government are likely livid with West Ham as a Russian alliance emerges.
