Pundit issues emphatic Brenden Aaronson claim after Leeds United update
Brenden Aaronson could go to the “next level” after signing for Leeds United.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s new signing.
Leeds announced the signing of Aaronson, 21, from RB Leipzig on Thursday (May 26), their first senior signing of the summer.
He adds more depth to a midfield that struggled for consistency in the 2021-22 season.
Kalvin Phillips only made 20 league appearances last season and Stuart Dallas is expected to miss most if not all of next season through injury.
McAvennie is expecting big things from Aaronson now he has been reunited with Jesse Marsch.
“This guy has come in early, maybe they were waiting to see if Leeds would stay up,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Jesse Marsch knows this boy, it’s a bit like Ange Postecoglou coming in at Celtic. He signed all these players no one had heard of but had played for him before.
“They did a great job because he knew them and I have no doubt Jesse Marsch knows this boy inside and out.
“He knows his attitude and exactly what he is going to get from this player.
“He will get the best out of Aaronson and he could go to that next level when he has the backing of a manager like that.”

Aaronson made 41 appearances for Leipzig during the recently completed season.
He scored six goals and provided 10 assists.
In other news, an expert has claimed Leeds United will ‘spend big’ and sign nine senior players this summer.
