Pundit issues emphatic Darwin Nunez prediction after Liverpool teammate’s reveal
Paul Robinson is adamant Darwin Nunez will hit the ground running in a Liverpool shirt next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested the 23-year-old will “settle very quickly” on Merseyside like Luis Diaz.
On 14 June, Liverpool confirmed the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica on a long-term contract.
Speaking to club media during pre-season training (5 July), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain referenced how “quick and strong” his new teammate is.
The Reds get their Premier League season underway on 6 August against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
When asked by Football Insider if Nunez’s physical attributes will help him settle into English football quickly, Robinson said: “When you look at Jurgen Klopp’s record, new signings settle very quickly into the first team.
“Just look at Alisson, [Virgil] van Dijk, Fabinho and Luis Diaz. Klopp obviously has a way with his players.
“His man-management skills allow him to integrate new players well. You would expect him to do the same with Nunez.

“Nunez is more of a nine than Liverpool have ever had under Klopp. We will no doubt see a shift in the way Liverpool play. There will be a change in style because of Nunez’s presence.
“It will be the same with Man City and [Erling] Haaland. They will not necessarily score more goals but they will score different goal. Both teams will learn to score their goals in a different way.”
In other news, an Arsenal idol has claimed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has ‘used his brain’ as ‘super’ Liverpool footage emerges from pre-season.
