Pundit issues emphatic verdict on Andy Robertson ban as ‘nasty’ Liverpool footage emerges
Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool defender Andy Robertson’s challenge on Wolves winger Adama Traore “looked nasty” but was not deserving of a red card.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Reds defender turned his foot away from Traore when he realised it was going towards his face.
Jurgen Klopp’s side drew 2-2 with Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday (7 January).

As shown on Twitter (7 January), Robertson collided with Traore in the dying stages of the match.
Robertson’s boot made contact with Traore’s face but the officials did not adjudge the contact to be sufficient of a red card.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the controversial incident, Robinson said: “I do not think it was intentional because he turned his ankle.
“As his foot came down his ankle turns and he gets him with the side of his foot. If it was studs down with the sole of his foot it would have been nasty.
“It is difficult to know unless you are the player in question. But, from what I can see he turned his foot. It did not look good.
“The contact looked nasty but when you watch it closely in slow motion you can see that Robertson turns his foot at the last minute. I do not think it was intentional.”

Robertson has made 21 appearances for the Reds this season.
Liverpool are back in Premier League action this Saturday away at Brighton.
