Pundit issues ‘huge’ Man United claim as takeover could be completed ‘very soon’

Frank McAvennie has claimed Man United need new owners as soon as possible.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said United should be challenging at the top of the table every year and new ownership could help achieve that.

The Glazers announced in November that they would listen to offers to buy into the Manchester Club.

As quoted by The Athletic (15 December), Avram Glazer said that they are “not necessarily” looking at a sale.

According to journalist David Ornstein, as relayed by Utd Report (28 December), a takeover could be happening “very soon” and could be a “seismic moment” in the club’s history.

McAvennie suggested a takeover could help United return to their former glory.

Man United should be up there anyway,” he told Football Insider.

They should be where City and Liverpool are. Liverpool do not have the money Man City have got but they are up there challenging for everything.

That is where United should be. That is how big a club they are.

Unfortunately the last few years they have been all over the place. They have made stupid signings.

Man United

Man United have got to strive to keep going forward they are a huge club. I think it is good for football for Man United to be up there challenging.

The fans want the owners out. Newcastle fans hated Mike Ashley and now they have a smile on their face because of the new owners, that is what United need.

In other news, an insider has suggested Jadon Sancho not even doing bare minimum after ‘big’ Man United reveal.
