Pundit issues ‘incredible’ Erling Haaland claim after player’s reveal
Frank McAvennie has claimed Erling Haaland will be able to score as many goals “as he wants” for Man City next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-West Ham striker said City will have to play Haaland as an out and out striker, similar to how the team played with Sergio Aguero.
Speaking to Sky Sports (24 July) the 22-year-old said he imagined himself scoring goals for the Light Blues after watching them without a striker for so long.

The Norwegian international insisted he will “get better” this season.
The striker put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad this summer.
He joined for a fee of around £54million.
When asked how many goals he predicted Haaland to score for Pep Guardiola’s side, McAvennie told Football Insider:
“As many as he wants, I think he’s that good.
“I think he’s the top striker at the moment. He’s had a couple of injuries but his ratio for goals is just incredible.
“He’s hungry, you just look at him and he’s just like a sponge taking everything in. He’s still young, they say he’s not going to hit his peak for another three or four years.

“Aguero was the last out and out striker they had. [Gabriel] Jesus never got played as a striker. You couldn’t play Aguero anywhere else, you can’t play Haaland anywhere else. He’s an out and out striker.
“Centre-halves will be having nightmares about him. It’s going to be such an education for some of the youngsters to play against him. I’m really looking forward to it.“
