Pundit issues three-word verdict on Liverpool signing Youssoufa Moukoko after ‘huge’ twist

Frank McAvennie has claimed Jurgen Klopp can’t guarantee anyone a start at Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said there is “no chance” Klopp could promise Youssoufa Moukoko will get the game time he wants.

On Saturday (17 December), this site revealed that Klopp is “huge” fan of the 18-year-old and is in no doubt he can be a Premier League star.

According to the Times, as relayed by Anfield Watch (15 December), the Reds are keen on a move for the Borussia Dortmund striker but will have to convince him that he is not being signed to sit on the bench.

Chelsea and Man United are also said to be interested in the forward.

The Anfield club are already heavily stacked with forward options that include Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.

But Diaz has suffered an injury setback which could now see him sidelined until March.

When asked if Klopp could provide a guarantee of game time to Moukoko, McAvennie told Football Insider:There is not a chance.

They can’t give him any guarantees. If you are not playing well you are out, a manager cannot guarantee anything. Liverpool have got a good forward line so they can’t guarantee anyone a place.

Liverpool

They have got Nunez, Diaz, Salah, Firmino. Klopp could not guarantee anything. You are playing well you are guaranteed to be in his thoughts but nobody can promise anything.

He will not go because he will not get that guarantee. I don’t know why he wouldn’t want to join Liverpool.
