Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Martial verdict as Man United pictures emerge

Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted he “cannot believe” how inconsistent Anthony Martial has been for Man United as he closes in on a loan move to Sevilla.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker did not rule out a return to Man United for Martial if Ralf Rangnick does not land the manager’s job at the end of the season.

Sky Sports shared pictures of the Frenchman today (25 January) in Seville as he looks to finalise his loan move to Sevilla.

The same outlet reported today the La Liga club will pay his wages in full but there is no option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Asked whether Martial has a long-term future at Old Trafford, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It will depend on who comes in as the manager in the summer.

“If Rangnick doesn’t stay and somebody else comes in they might want him back.

“But it’s best for the club and the player that he does move on, he’s so inconsistent I cannot believe it.

“One day he’s on fire, the next day he’s a zero out of 10. You cannot have be in that on-off form as a Manchester United player.

“Manchester United have always been renowned for consistency and consistent performances from their players.

“Anthony Martial, for me, they should try and sell him and get as much as they can. It hasn’t worked since his bright start.

“Man United should try and bring in a more consistent player.”
