Pundit issues ‘very dangerous’ Neal Maupay claim after Everton source’s reveal
Noel Whelan has claimed Neal Maupay could be a “very dangerous” addition for Everton if he can find consistency at Goodison Park.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 26-year-old could cure the Toffees’ “desperate” need for a proven forward option.
Sources told this site on Friday (26 August) that Brighton striker Maupay is undergoing a medical today ahead of a move to Everton.

Southampton ace Che Adams had been a top target for Frank Lampard’s side, but Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed he will not be leaving in the last week of the window.
Everton are also missing talisman Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Maupay, who has one year left on his contract, has scored 26 goals in 102 Premier League games since joining Brighton.
Whelan claimed the Frenchman’s successful spell at Brentford is proof he can be prolific in front of goal.
He told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “If you’re gonna miss out on your top target, Adams, you’ve got to have more eggs in the basket.
“Right now, Everton are desperate for someone who can lead the line and link the play. Maupay has done that.
“On his day, he’s a very dangerous player. He knows where the back of the net is, but it’s just that consistency they need to get out of him.

“However, he was prolific at Brentford – so there is a goalscorer in him.
“With the service coming from the wings and the wing-backs as well – I don’t think it’s a bad signing for Everton at this point in the window.”
