Pundit: Liverpool to ‘start planning’ after Mohamed Salah development – ‘it sends managers into panic’
Kevin Campbell has claimed Mohamed Salah’s early release from international duty is “great news” for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested Klopp was “worried” about Salah, 30, over the international break.
The Egyptian FA confirmed on Twitter (25 September) that Salah will be “rested” for Tuesday’s friendly against Liberia.
According to the Daily Mail later that day, the forward has been released from the squad early and has returned to Merseyside to concentrate on club football.
Jurgen Klopp’s side welcome Brighton to Anfield on Saturday (1 October).
When asked by Football Insider if Klopp would have likely been over the moon upon hearing the news, Campbell said: “International football sends manager’s into panic.
“They worry about the condition their players are going to return in. Are they going to be injured?
“For Salah to get an early release and come back is great news.
“Liverpool can start planning. They can plan with him and set their game plan for Brighton.
“I am sure Klopp would love that to happen with all of the players. Salah is their main man though so having him back in the building is excellent news, it really is.”

Salah scored a brace for Egypt in a 3-0 win over Niger on Friday (23 September).
He has contributed four goals and three assists in nine appearances for the Reds this season.
In other news, a finance guru has claimed Liverpool are ‘digging in their heels’ as £250million deal is ‘leaked’.
