Pundit makes 'huge' Man United sack claim after journalist update on Zidane talks

Kevin Campbell has claimed there is now “huge pressure” on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position at Man United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker said the Reds Devils’ “incredible squad” is underperforming so far this season.

Man United recovered from a two-goal deficit to beat Atalanta 3-2 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

It was only United’s second win in six across all competitions.

Speaking on El Chiringuito TV (October 19th), Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda claimed United called Zinedine Zidane over the international break.

The Premier League giants reportedly contacted the ex-Real Madrid boss in regards to potentially replacing Solskjaer.

However, the 49-year-old is said not to be interested.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if the end was nigh for Solskjaer, Campbell said:

“The problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is, he has an incredible squad there who are not doing the business. I repeat, not doing the business.

“That is going to bring huge pressure on your head as a manager. Questions are getting asked because the performances have simply not been up to scratch. The balance of that team isn’t right.

“Their team is set up to challenge for the big trophies. I know United can be slow starters but in this day and age you cannot afford to be. They are putting themselves under huge pressure with results like that Leicester one.

“When you have a vastly talented squad that is underperforming, that is going to put huge pressure on the manager.”
