Pundit makes 'new signing' Leeds claim after 'brilliant' Forshaw update
Alan Hutton has insisted Adam Forshaw deserves to be rewarded with a new contract at Leeds United.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 30-year-old has been “like a new signing” since returning from his long-term injury.
As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post on Monday (10 January), Leeds are set to announce Forshaw’s new deal in the coming weeks.
His current terms are set to expire at the end of the season.
Forshaw went over two years without making a league start due to a hip injury.
Hutton insisted the midfielder’s influence since returning means he is well-deserving of a new deal.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It is brilliant news because I know how difficult it can be when you’ve been out for a long time.
“We’re talking about one of these more serious injuries. For the club, it’s like signing a new player. He’s come back and he’s been like a breath of fresh air.
“Forshaw’s one of those guys who gives you everything on the pitch. It’s nice to see the club’s rewarding him for his hard work. Just everything about him to get back on that pitch and help his teammates.
“They needed him, they definitely needed him. He is like a new signing. Being rewarded for his efforts is something that you love to see.”
Forshaw has managed to make 15 appearances across all competitions this season.
He has played the full 90 minutes in eight of Leeds’ last nine league games.
