Pundit: 'No hiding place' for Eddie Howe at Newcastle United after 'massive' Allan Saint-Maximin reveal

Paul Robinson has claimed “there is no hiding place” for Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe after six league games without a win.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one claimed the Magpies have missed the injured Allan Saint-Maximin, 25, and Callum Wilson, 30.

Newcastle drew 1-1 with Bournemouth at St. James’ Park on Saturday (17 September).

Eddie Howe’s side have not won in the Premier League since the opening day of the season against Nottingham Forest.

As quoted by the Daily Mail (18 September), Howe claimed Saint-Maximin is irreplaceable for his side.

The Magpies boss claimed there was “a massive hole” for a player like Saint-Maximin against Bournemouth.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to Howe’s comments, Robinson said: “They need to start winning games.

“They are drawing far too many of their home fixtures at the moment. It is all well and good going on an unbeaten streak but draws against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace at home… They should be winning those games with the money they’ve invested in the squad.

“There is no hiding place for Eddie Howe. If it continues he will be under pressure.

“They have got a very good squad. They should be doing better than they are.

“I think Allan Saint-Maximin and Wilson have been missed. I like what I have seen [Alexander] Isak though, I think he will score goals.”
