Pundit on Sean Dyche potentially becoming new Everton manager – ‘he’s the guy for the job’

Alan Hutton has insisted Frank Lampard can turn things around at Everton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back said Toffees fans seem more “disgruntled” by the board rather than the manager.

According to the Sun (7 January), Sean Dyche is one of many high-profile managers ready to take over at the helm should Everton part company with Lampard.

Dyche, 51, is believed to be keen on the job at Goodison Park should it become available.

The Toffees are currently 18th in the Premier League and only three points separate them and bottom of the table Southampton.

Lampard’s side have not won a league game since October when the beat Crystal Palace 3-0.

But Hutton insisted getting rid of the current boss won’t solve Everton’s problems.

It seems to me that the fans are more disgruntled with the board and the way things are run than actually Frank Lampard,” he told Football Insider.

I think he is the guy for the job if he is given time. The problem is you are not given time if results are not going your way.

Sean Dyche is a guy that could come in and keep you up, but is that the kind of brand and style of football that you want to play moving forward?

You can’t just chop and change your manager every two minutes. It ultimately becomes harder.

Lampard is under a lot of pressure but if he is given the right tools then he can turn it around. If they can get some players through the door that Lampard feels he needs then there is a possibility for them to climb the table.
