Pundit points the finger at Andy Robertson and Liverpool teammate after new development
Kevin Campbell has claimed Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have not “hit their levels” for Liverpool this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said “you expect more” from the two full-backs.
Robertson, 28, was dropped from Liverpool’s starting XI for the trip to Goodison Park on Saturday (3 September).
Konstantinos Tsimikas replaced the Scotland international for the entertaining Merseyside derby which finished goalless.
Alexander-Arnold did start the game but was replaced by James Milner shortly before the hour mark.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the duo’s form, Campbell said: “Liverpool have had a bad start to the season.
“Trent has been playing the same way that he always plays though. The problem is, when Liverpool are not winning games people look for what is wrong and they question Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“The margins are so small. Defensively, we know that he can be got at. Any defender can be got at when there is a speedy forward though.
“Too many Liverpool players have had bad days at the office this season. The bottom line is, Liverpool have not been playing well enough.
“You expect more from Robertson and you expect more from Trent Alexander-Arnold though. The levels they have set in previous seasons, they have not hit those levels yet.”

Robertson has provided two assists in seven appearances across all competitions this season.
Alexander-Arnold has scored twice in his seven outings this term.
