Pundit questions ‘attitude’ of Tottenham stars after Nuno fitness claim

Alan Hutton has questioned the “attitude” of the Tottenham squad after the recent defeats to Vitesse Arnhem and West Ham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender insisted Nuno Espirito Santo would be baffled by his side’s regression after beating Newcastle 3-2.

As quoted by football.london (24th October) at his press conference, Nuno shot down any suggestion fitness and fatigue is the reason behind Spurs’ recent poor performances.

Spurs lost 1-0 to both Vitesse and West Ham.

Hutton admitted the Irons looked better than the Lilywhites in every single department.

He suggested application or attitude must be behind the poor displays.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Is it application, is it attitude, what is it?

“I know it’s not the biggest derby for Tottenham, it’s big the other way, but you should still be up for it.

“I didn’t see much from anyone, to be honest. West Ham looked the fitter, the stronger, more aggressive in everything they did. They were the team that looked like they were going to do something.

“Out with the Kane header, there wasn’t much to go on. Spurs, it’s a weird one at the moment. You go back to the Newcastle game and I was thinking: ‘Right, okay I see something here.

“I saw a progression, it looked like the starting team to me, the right formation. Kane a goal and an assist, time to kick on.

“Then it was flat again. It must be a difficult one. Nuno must be scratching his head thinking, ‘what’s going on here’?”

Spurs currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.

In other news, one Tottenham star was hit by a ‘ridiculous’ blow during the loss to West Ham.
