Pundit reveals ‘big thing everyone’s missed’ about Jadon Sancho move from Man United – ‘This is huge’
Man United sanctioning Jadon Sancho’s exit shows a “huge behind-the-scenes backing” for Erik ten Hag.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Man United goalkeeper Paul Robinson claimed that allowing the expensive Englishman to leave on loan proved the hierarchy has trust in the underpressure manager.
Sancho left Old Trafford on loan to return to his former side Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season following his disastrous spell at the club.

His failure to resolve his bust-up with the manager resulted in him being axed from the first team, but he managed to notch an assist on his second debut for the Bundesliga giants against Darmstadt on Saturday (13 January).
Robinson was baffled that the dispute could not be resolved but was adamant it proved the board’s loyalty to the Dutchman.
“I think the deal has been a huge failure for both parties,” he told Football Insider.
“If you look at the transfer fee paid and the wages involved, it just hasn’t worked for whatever reason.
“I can’t understand the standoff between him and the manager – there’s more to it than the player just having to apologise because I can’t see why he just wouldn’t do it.
“The big thing that everyone has missed with this is that Sancho’s departure is a huge backing from Man United for Erik ten Hag.
“They’ve sanctioned this deal and have cut their losses on a deal that’s cost them an absolute fortune.
“They’re backing him. They’ve not publically backed him by saying he’s the man to take us forward, but this is a huge behind-the-scenes backing of him.

“Another manager may want to use him, but by sanctioning the Sancho deal, it’s a massive backing.
“For Sancho, he needs to get his career back on track and show why he got that huge move in the first place.”
