Pundit shares 'big' Jesse Marsch sack verdict after what he's seen from Leeds United

Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United job is safe after back-to-back Premier League wins.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Sources told Football Insider ahead of the Liverpool game (25 October) that Marsch may lose his job during the World Cup break if results did not improve.

Since then, the Whites have won back-to-back games against Liverpool and Bournemouth and now sit 12th in the Premier League.

Wenham insists Marsch should not be under pressure.

“I feel vindicated, utterly vindicated,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I said a few weeks ago that there is no way Leeds should be considering getting rid of Marsch. He has barely had a chance this season.

“There is a whole new squad there, players signed by him to play the way he wants to play. Then you sack him after a few games and get someone else in? No.

“I like Marsch and I think he has been undone by unrealistic expectations. What were Leeds fans wanting going into this season?

“It’s still early in the season as well, it’s a third of the way through. If they were rock bottom then I would get it, but they’re not.

“There are signs that are showing Leeds are on the right track, the underlying numbers are good and they were excellent against Liverpool from what I saw. Now it’s about turning those numbers into results.

“That’s a big ask but it looks like they are doing it.”

Leeds face Tottenham in their final game before the World Cup (12 November).

Before that, they travel to Wolves in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (9 November).

In other news, Liverpool chiefs were left “appalled” by a Leeds United man’s “diabolical” behaviour.
