Pundit shares ‘really exciting’ Celtic verdict as seven-figure O’Riley deal confirmed

Ange Postecoglou faces a problem when he tries to field his strongest Celtic side during the second half of the season.

That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as Postecoglou’s side continue to strengthen.

Celtic have signed four senior players this month, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Matt O’Riley.

O’Riley, 21, is the latest midfield recruit with his signing confirmed on Thursday (20 January) after the Scottish giants activated the £1.5million release clause in his MK Dons contract.

Celtic now have plenty of depth in the midfield and attack with a Hoops source telling Football Insider on 10 January that they are close to signing Jota permanently.

McAvennie has no idea how Postecoglou is going to fit all of his best players into the same team.

“Listen, there are worse problems to have,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The new lads who have come in and played on Monday are only going to get better, that’s a great thing.

“Then you have Kyogo who wasn’t there and Turnbull who wasn’t there.

“They both start for me so I honestly don’t know what our best team is, and that’s a good thing.

“I’ve been crying out for depth for months now and it looks like we finally have it.

“A few players still need to leave so the squad should be streamlined but we have options now.

“There are a lot of games to play in the league, in the cup and in Europe so this can only be good news.

“Especially with Rangers drawing on Tuesday, it’s a really exciting time.”

In other news, One pundit claims Celtic are now in control as Rangers ‘can’t deal’ with title ‘pressure’.
