Pundit shares verdict on Leeds landing 'crazy' Casilla replacement
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United to land a “shrewd signing” to replace Kiko Casilla.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the Whites do not need to spend “crazy” money on a new goalkeeper.
The Whites confirmed Casilla has returned to Spain after signing a season-long loan spell with Elche.
It leaves the club with just Illan Meslier as their only senior goalkeeper.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 14 July that Newcastle United stopper Freddie Woodman has rejected a move to Elland Road.
The 24-year-old is valued at £10million by Newcastle and does not want to be second-choice behind Meslier.

Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post reported on June 13 that Dani Cárdenas of Levante and Kristoffer Klaesson of Valerengaare also on Victor Orta’s shortlist.
Asked whether he expects Leeds to complete a deal for Casilla’s replacement quickly, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes, I’m sure they will do.
“But the goalkeeper is that good that it doesn’t need to be a crazy back up. You look at Man United, they went and got Tom Heaton from Aston Villa.
“It should be one of those shrewd signings so you’re not eating up too much of your budget. That’s the best thing to do.”
Casilla played 62 games across all competitions for United, including three in the Premier League last term.
His time in England was overshadowed by an eight-match racism ban he was hit with in Ferbruary 2020.
