Agbonlahor shares verdict on Leeds signing Brazilian loved by Ronaldo after reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United to sign a younger defender than Marcelo.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed the Real Madrid legend “lacks the legs” to play Marcelo Bielsa’s high-intensity style.
The Mirror reported on June 12 that Leeds and Everton have both been sounded out about a potential deal as he is not in the plans of returning Real boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazilian still has a year left on his Los Blancos contract but started only 12 La Liga games last season.
The 33-year-old has played over 500 times for the Spanish giants and formed an incredible partnership down the left side with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Spanish outlet AS reported in March Ronaldo wants a reunion with the defender at Juventus.

They reportedly maintain a close relationship off the pitch after enjoying nine trophy-laden years together in Spain’s capital.
Asked whether Marcelo would be a good signing for Leeds, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I just don’t see him suiting how Leeds play because Leeds play man for man.
“Marcelo is not defender he once was, he lacks the legs, he’s older.
“You wouldn’t want to put him one-on-one with a Marcus Rashford or Riyad Mahrez.
“I don’t see that one happening. I think Leeds will go for somebody younger in defence.”
Leeds are in the market for a new left-back this summer after Ezjgan Alioski spent the last campaign in the role.
The North Macedonia international is out of contract in a fortnight’s time and the Whites are yet to secure him to a new deal.
