Pundit slams ‘out of order’ Man United after Jesse Lingard family member’s Saturday dig at club

Man United are “out of order” for demanding a “ridiculous” loan fee for Jesse Lingard.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s struggle to find a move away from Old Trafford.

As reported by the Daily Mail on Wednesday (26 January), Man United want a £12million survival bonus included in any loan deal for Lingard amid interest from Newcastle.

As shared by Manchester Evening News, on Saturday (29 January), Lingard’s brother posted an image of Lingard playing for West Ham on his Instagram story.

The image was accompanied by text reading ” “A year ago today we was ‘allowed’ out on day release”, in an apparent dig at the Red Devils.

Kenny slammed Man United for “behaving ridiculously” but claimed a deal would be done on deadline day.

“Lingard wants to play football, he’s not even getting close to playing for Man United,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They are stopping his career by asking for a ridiculous loan fee, no one is going to pay that.

“It’s out of order. They know Newcastle have money and they are taking the mickey out of them.

“Hopefully on deadline day, Man United will realise Newcastle is their only option and there can be a reduction in what they are asking for.

“Common sense has to prevail here. I can’t imagine Lingard is happy with all this.

“Manchester United are behaving ridiculously here and everyone knows it.”

The total value of the Red Devils’ demands could cost Newcastle £16.5million.

Lingard has started twice in 14 appearances for Manchester United this season.
