Newcastle owners to announce new manager 'on day one' after Downie update - pundit
Steve Bruce has no chance of keeping his job under the new owners at Newcastle United.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with the Saudi-led takeover reportedly on the brink of being completed.
As per Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, Newcastle are expected to replace Bruce once the club changes hands.
The Athletic have today reported the takeover is done with an announcement due to follow imminently.
Bruce’s public stance is he won’t walk out on the job he craved for much of his managerial career, which he reiterated again last month.
The Newcastle United Supporter’s Trust revealed the results of a poll this week and of the 20,000 people who responded, 94.3% wanted Bruce to resign.

The Magpies are 19th in the Premier League and winless in all competitions this season.
McAvennie insists Newcastle’s terrible run of form can’t be allowed to continue.
“This can’t go on,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We’ve heard all this stuff about what’s happened in training but that happens all the time.
“Bruce is still under severe pressure because Newcastle aren’t winning. If they were winning games this wouldn’t be coming out.
“I don’t think Bruce is going to walk away. Once this takeover goes through he will be out of the door on day one, I’m sure of that.
“If they don’t, a decision will be made before it’s too late. He’s gambling with the club again and it’s not right.
“It’s a sad state of affairs and it has been for a while.”
