Pundit suggests when Brendan Rodgers will be sacked after Leicester City source's reveal
Noel Whelan has claimed Brendan Rodgers deserves an opportunity to turn Leicester City’s form around after a “horrible” start to the season.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 49-year-old must “take responsibility” for his talented side’s failings.
Leicester have managed just one point from their opening seven games and sit rock bottom of the Premier League having shipped 22 goals – the most in the top flight.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 September) that the Foxes are sounding out potential replacements for Rodgers – who is on the brink of losing his job.
The former Liverpool and Celtic boss has been at Leicester since 2019 and led the Midlands club to a historic FA Cup triumph in 2021.
Whelan insisted the next couple of games will test Rodgers’ “credentials” and the “camaraderie” within his squad.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s really difficult, he’s a good manager – but he’s going through a horrible time.
“I can’t think of a time where Rodgers has gone through such a tough time.
“This is really going to test his managerial credentials and the camaraderie with the squad. Can he get them out of the doldrums and revive this season?
“It’s not looking good for Leicester and as much as they’ve got good individuals, collectively they’re failing right now.
“You can only look to the manager now. They’re sitting bottom of the league, and the manager has got to take responsibility.
“I doubt they’ll do anything in this two-week period. I think he deserves the opportunity to try and turn this season around.
“I can’t see him lasting past the next couple of games though, if he can’t turn it round.”
