Pundit 'surprised' by Liverpool after Mohamed Salah pictures emerge
Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool have “surprisingly” not missed Georginio Wijnaldum a year on from the midfielder’s exit from Anfield.
However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 31-year-old’s move to Paris Saint-Germain “has not worked out” for the player.
In July 2021, Wijnaldum joined PSG on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract on Merseyside.
The Reds offered the Netherlands international a new contract but it did not meet his wage demands.
On his personal Twitter (29 June), Wijnaldum posted pictures of himself sharing a drink with his former teammate Mohamed Salah.
When asked by Football Insider if Wijnaldum likely regretted switching Anfield for PSG last year, Robinson said: “It has not worked out for Wijnaldum really.

“He would have wanted more game time at PSG.
“From a Liverpool point of view, when you look at how far they went in all competitions you would have to say they did not miss him. I thought they would but in all honesty they did not.
“They achieved so much without him. He would have played a lot of games had he stayed, as he did the season before.
“It has not worked well for the player but Liverpool have done well without him.
“I’m surprised because I have to say I was skeptical when he left having played so many games the season before.”
