Pundit tells Tottenham fans ‘just you watch’ as he issues surprise Kane claim

Struggling Harry Kane will turn around his woeful Tottenham form and bag over 20 Premier League goals this season.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the England captain bagged seven goals during November’s international break.

Kane, 28, scored a hat-trick against Albania before bagging four against San Marino as England qualified for next year’s World Cup.

However, he has only scored once in 10 Premier League appearances this season and been a shadow of the player who has terrorised domestic defences for so long.

He is also goalless in two games under new boss Antonio Conte.

Despite this, McAvennie claims there is “no way” Kane won’t carry his international form into the Premier League.

“You can only keep an amazing player like Kane down for so long,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“People will say the goals he scored against Albania and San Marino aren’t worth a Premier League goal, for example.

“But every goal counts and I think he’s now playing with a bit more freedom.

“He took his chances well and it doesn’t matter who you play, that’s big for a striker.

“Conte knows that. Kane is used to top-class managers. Nuno wasn’t one.

“Conte will know how to get the best out of Kane and I honestly think he will still get 20 plus goals this season.

“People will say that’s unlikely but he is just so good, there’s no way he won’t carry on this newfound form. Just you watch.”

Kane’s next chance to bag a second league goal of the season comes against Leeds on Sunday.

Only four teams have conceded more goals than Leeds so far this season.

In other news, Tottenham fans have been told they can expect movement on their club’s hunt for Dusan Vlahovic in the near future.
