Everton tipped to complete three new signings after journalist's 'massive' update - pundit
Paddy Kenny has suggested Everton could make three new signings after getting James Rodriguez’s wages off the books.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League goalkeeper admitted he was “flabbergasted” the Toffees were paying the 30-year-old £250,000-a-week.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano (22nd September), Rodriguez has agreed terms and undergone a medical with Qatari side Al Rayyan.
Football Insider revealed on September 12 Rodriguez did not leave Goodison Park over summer due to his remarkable £250,000-a-week wage.
Romano claims Al Rayyan have agreed terms of the Colombian’s salary payments with Everton.
Kenny insisted the Toffees would be “thrilled” to get his wages off the books.

He suggested the Merseyside outfit could use that money for as many as three new additions.
Kenny told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I totally get it from Everton’s point of view if he’s not going to be involved.
“I just find it strange out how Everton can pay someone that sort of money. They’re not Man City or Man United, are they? Even Liverpool would do well to pay that out.
“I heard about this last week, how much money he was on. I was flabbergasted to be honest.
“For Everton to get him off the wage bill, it’s massive for them. They could get two, maybe three players in for those wages, and I can see that.
“I’m sure they’ll be delighted once the move is completed and they can get him off the wage bill.”
Rodriguez’s contract at Everton was set to expire next summer, although there was an optional one-year extension clause included.
He made 26 appearances for the Toffees, with six goals and nine assists to his name.
