Pundit unhappy at what ‘people are saying’ about Newcastle United ‘that’s just wrong’
Newcastle United’s recent turnaround is not purely down to their busy January transfer window.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with the Magpies out of the bottom six.
Newcastle are unbeaten in seven league games and have won four of their last five.

These results have lifted Eddie Howe’s side from 19th to 14th.
The credit for this turnaround has been given to the club’s £92million outlay in January.
Despite the arrivals of Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Matt Targett and Dan Burn, Kenny insists it’s players like Joe Willock and Joelinton who have inspired this turnaround.
“I’m sure Newcastle aren’t resting on their laurels here, there is still a long way to go,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“One result could change everything. That being said, Eddie Howe has done an amazing job.
“Some of the things I’ve seen about Newcastle aren’t right. People are saying it’s just because of the money, this turnaround.
“That’s just wrong. How many times have you seen loads of players come in and it hasn’t worked?
“It takes a special manager to make those players gel together and make the team actually work.
“Those signings provide confidence and competition which raises everyone’s game but you then have to put them in the team without disrupting anything.
“It’s not the money. Newcastle have done this run without Wilson or Trippier as well, Saint-Maximin missed the last two games as well.

“Saying it’s all about the money just isn’t right. Joelinton has been a revelation, Willock is back among the goals as well.
“Those two were poor at the start of the season now they look incredible. That’s down to Howe.”
In other news, a medical guru has issued a ‘smoke and mirrors’ claim as Allan Saint-Maximin pictures emerge from Newcastle United.
